For starters I am a huge Eddie Izzard fan, so when I heard recently that he is starring in a new TV series, I was giddy. The Riches, has been showing in the US for a while now, but two weeks ago Canada's wonderful Showcase began showing the series. Two episodes have been aired so far. Eddie, a real life transvestite, plays the 'straight' Wayne married to Minnie Driver's Dahlia. They have three children: "a boy, a girl, and a ...", yeah the youngest boy likes to wear girl clothing ;) The series is really hard to sum up, but it's definitely growing on me. Next episode is Wednesday night and I can't wait!!

Last night I watched Little Children, starring Kate Winslet and the very yummy Patrick Wilson. If you get a chance and want to watch something that is a challenge to watch, catch Patrick in Hard Candy. It is quite disturbing.

Anyway Little Children was also a bit of a difficult watch. The unhappiness and secrets of living in suburbia. Kate's character is really a neglectful mother because of her own emptiness and unhappiness with her life. She looks to Brad (Patrick's character) to fill her up.

I am back from my whirlwind tour of San Fran :) I am very tired this morning, not going into work until this afternoon.

My friend and I did all the tourist things: Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bay cruise, Wine country tour, tour of SF that included eating! The MAJOR disappointment was the Beach Blanket Babylon show. I thought it was supposed to be drag queens, like I saw in Las Vegas. But no, it was some singing and dancing thing with one OLD OLD guy dressed in drag, the other were young men and women dancing and singing. It was a real disappointment. Just before we left yesterday afternoon, I asked the cute young man who worked at the hotel we stayed at where are the drag queen shows??? He told where to go when we come back. Too bad we didn't think to do that the first night *sigh*

The hotel was quaint ;) Greatly situated on Geary Street, 4 blocks west of Union Square.

We didn't get to Castro (next time!), we were just too busy.

The weather was coolish and windy, but for the most part, sunny. We saw the Golden Gate bridge without fog ;)

I have to go through all my digital pictures yet. It will take me a while to settle back into life at home. I am sad it's over. San Fran would be a very interesting place to live.

I am leaving for San Fran in 4 days! Sooo looking forward to getting away. My friend and I have basically filled the 4 days we are there with different tours and a drag queen show! We are going to see Beach Blanket Babylon, see the link for more details ;)

The tours are: Alcatraz and the Bay cruise, A Taste of San Francisco (an eating tour!!) and Sanoma/Napa valley wine tour!! We have one 'free' day to tour Fisherman's Wharf and shopping! It is going to be very rushed, but a lot of fun :)
