Childless re-boot! They are safely back to their respective universities and already a bit overwhelmed with adjustments - o well, such is life when you are a student (parent, human being, etc!)

I am adjusting (again) to being on my own. I really like being on my own - not a real good 'compromiser' ;) Plus the new season of TV has started!! God I love my PVR!

Now back to our regular programming ;)

I hope to get my ass out of the house more this fall. I hope to join a social dance club - perhaps even meet someone!?!?!?!

I spent way too much money this summer. I am going to have to budget better. I found out that my sister was laid-off from her job. I am sick of this recession :(

I have had a busy and fun weekend :)

Friday night I went to the ballet. I am thinking of buying season's tickets for next season, which starts in September.

My daughters are home this month from their first year at university!! K is home on Apr 16 and B is home on Apr 28!

I spent yesterday and today 'spring cleaning'. I washed all their bedding. Plus washed curtains and windows in my house. It's good to finally be able to have the windows open to let in fresh air!!

It almost feels like spring today. The snow is melting and the sun is shining. It has been a long, up and down winter here (weather-wise)

I am back to work after being off since December 19! Yeah, it's hard being here. I took one daughter to the airport at 5:30 this morning. She has a long day commuting back to NB. The other daughter head's out tomorrow morning. I am going to miss them so very much :( But then they are home for the summer in April sometime :)

I had a quiet Christmas break, spending as much time as I could with my girls, when they weren't at their dad's!

I am one year older - not liking birthdays!! But I am hoping that 2009 is going to be a better year, maybe a relationship is in the cards for me?!?!?!

I finished the final episodes in season 5 of Six Feet Under last night...

Sheesh that does describe me well :( I have been feeling overly sensitive to people lately, reactive to their interactions to me. Hurt and not knowing how to respond or recover from that! gaaah :(

Today I am going through 7 years of personal and financial papers. Included is all the divorce 'stuff'. It feels so strange seeing lawyer letters, mediation, financial summaries, etc. I am feeling a bit fragmented and detached from it. It was only 7 years ago, but it really feels like a life time ago.

I am taking a break from all the shredding as my brand new shredder has overheated on me!

I also came across some homework from a counselling session I had years ago. Wow, things change but they remain the same...

Also had an amusing phone call yesterday from my hairdresser ;) She is setting me up on a blind date with one of her male clients. She has been talking to him about me and to me about him. So yesterday he asked her for my phone number as he wants to meet me ;) She phoned me and I said yes give it to him!! LOL I told her if this doesn't work out I would not be coming back to her to do my hair - she knew I was kidding with her ;) Wish me luck ;)

Not so happy about work. If looks could kill I would be dead now. Apparently I hit a huge nerve with one of my co-workers. She 'froze me solid' during our case conference meeting this morning. Ooops I guess I shouldn't question her walk-on-water authority. *bad girl*

I am feeling a bit guilty. I decided to de-friend someone from my limited friends on facebook because I am being friended by my relatives, and I didn't want them to know about the interests of mine through the interests of this friend on facebook. Is this clear????

Anyway I messaged the facebook friend this information and I am hoping for understanding, as I feel so conflicted :(

I am wondering about the whole 'de-friending' process here on livejournal. I have de-friended one person in the past, with out letting that person know. I am considering de-friending more, as I have not heard from some people in almost a year and other people I am not sure if we have any common ground. I guess I like closure! And if things are not working, end it and move on.

I am at work, killing a bit of time before a group I am co-therapist of starts, reflecting back on my week. Monday night's dinner with G went really well, btw :) We talked for 2 hours and had a very nice meal. We talked about getting together again for dinner, but no firm plans were made. I am leaving things in his court for the time being, appreciating the experience.

Tomorrow night my fencing class begins!! En garde!! Ok, I am a wee bit excited about that :) And tomorrow is my Friday off, life is sweet!

Some good news is that I can 'see'!! Last week I went to my eye doctor for an eye exam. I told her I have been very frustrated with my progressive lenses, telling her I could not see properly with the distance or the reading part. Also with my regular vision contact lenses I had to use reading glasses - it's been a mess. So last week she gave me contact lenses for MONOvision, where I would see distances with right eye, reading with left eye. Well, I HATED them!! I again couldn't see any thing well! Follow up appointment was this morning where I shared my woe with her. She gave me a pair of bifocal lenses to try and I LOVE THEM!!! I can see EVERYTHING well :) She said she would call me in a week to see if they are working. I knew after 10 minutes they were right for me :) What a relief :)
