I bought the Jarhead DVD last week and finally watched it Thursday night. I had seen it in November when it was at the theatres. I had liked it. It is political and anti-war, good stuff! O and the other thing I liked about it - Jake! Fucking hot and buffed up and 'naked' Jake!! Jake dancing only wearing two Santa Claus hats!!

I was very surprised that this movie didn't do very well at theatres. I guess you can never predict how audiences are going to respond.

Jake's character Swofford is a confused 20 year old who isn't sure how he ended up in the Marines. He reads Camus. Has a girlfriend. But he basically doesn't have a clue what he is going to do with his life. He discovers he has a knack for sharp shooting, dead on aim. Not much of future with that talent.

Swoff's relationship with Troy, his 'shooting' partner (played by Peter Sarsgaard) isn't supposed to look homosexual, but it did to me!!! Perhaps because of BBM and Jake and Heath, and my gut telling me Jake is really bisexual, I read too much into Jake and Pete's nice chemistry ;) yeah right!
